You can dress modestly and still look great

We are living in a time when it seems to be cool to leave very little to the imagination when it comes to fashion. For the women who prefer to dress modest in public, it does not mean that you have to wear long skirts and long sleeve shirts all the time. It means that you choose to look stylish in a respectful way. Get advice from those who pull off the modest look well and read some books on the topic.

General guidelines for modesty

You do not want to wear skirts that are too short where your undergarments are showing and your shirts should not show excess cleavage. Your pants should not be so tight that they are snug in a way that attracts the wrong attention. Skirts should not be too snug on the body but should flatter the figure in a modest way. Avoid excess makeup as it makes you look unnatural. Watch out for sheer see-through tops; you can wear a camisole underneath it with a blazer.

Purchase some knee-length shorts

Knee-length shorts are fashionable as they come in various colors and prints. You can wear these shorts with solid-colored shirts, dressy blouses, or long-sleeve button-down shirts. As for shoes, some ballerina flats, wedge shoes or tennis shoes go well with knee length shorts. If you are wearing a tank top with the shorts, put a cardigan over the top.

Tunic shirts

Tunic shirts have a bohemian vibe and are great for those who want to dress modestly while still looking fabulous. You can wear these shirts with jeans or dress pants, and some good shoes to wear with tunic shirts are pumps, flats, sandals and chunky wedge heels. The good thing about tunics is that they are flattering on full figured women.

Peasant tops with maxi skirts

Most peasant tops cover the upper half of the body well and they have embellishments such as lace, beading and ruffles on them. Maxi skirts can be long or medium-length and they are loose flowing, which makes for great wearing in the summer. You can wear this outfit to the beach and other outdoor events.

Accessorize the outfits

Modest apparel does not mean that you have to look plain. Accessorize your outfits with beautiful jewelry pieces that complement what you wear. Choose a purse or handbag that fits your personal style and wear a little makeup.

Leggings and T-shirt dresses

This is nice for casual wear when you need to run errands or if you are having lunch with your significant other. Leggings provide an alternative when you are tired of wearing jeans and skirts during the week.

Dress in the right size

Part of dressing modestly is wearing the right size. If you are a size 12, do not try to squeeze in outfits that are in size 8. If necessary, have your outfits tailored so that you are comfortable in the clothes you wear. You can ask the salesperson to help you determine which size is right for you.

Modest apparel can look beautiful on you if you use creativity and the above-mentioned steps.
