Fire pits galore

Before the fabrication of man-made technology, a fire pit was a hole in the ground where a fire was kept. However, most people nowadays use a fire pit as a decorative centerpiece. Fire pits come in many shapes, materials and purposes.

What is the purpose of outdoor fire pits?

A fire pit is considered a contained fire. In the old days, pits were dug in order to create a fire without it spreading through the land. Native Americans would use these pits to smoke certain types of food. Today, they are used as conversational pieces.

Types of fire pits

If a person will be choosing a patio or backyard pit, they have options other than building into the ground. There are two main types of fire pits: permanent and portable. Once a person has decided on whether or not the fire pit will stay or can move, they will need to decide on the next level of fire pit.

Now, the next choice in fire pits will be the material it is made from.
